what to expect on a sunday
Church can be an intimidating place to visit — especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the Gospel means both intellectually and relationally at our Sunday worship service. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.

Shortly before 9:30am · Arrive
If driving, parking is available at the rear of building or street side. Our address is 17 Gordon Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario M1S 1A6.
9:30am · English Worship
Sanctuary
1. Welcome. You enter the sanctuary (see picture) and are greeted by an usher.
2. Singing. We typically begin with singing praises to our Lord and God, usually led by one or more people.
3. Offering. We give an offering. Visitors are never expected to give. We give out of joyful hearts (2 Corinthians 9:7).
4. Prayer. We pray together to calm our hearts, reflect on God’s work in our lives and our standing before Him, and pray for others around the world. Someone leads this time.
5. Scripture. We read a Bible passage together. It is the focus of that day’s sermon.
6. Sermon. A pastor preaches the Word of God so that we can grow closer to God, become more like Jesus, and share the Good News with others (about 35–40 minutes).
7. Response. We usually close with another song of praise, to reflect on the message we just heard.
11:00am · Refreshments
Church House
We walk across the driveway to the Church House for refreshments and to catch up. It’s a great time for newcomers to connect.
11:15am · Sunday School
Church House
We gather for Sunday School, one class for all ages. From Bible studies and topical lessons to discussions on other faiths, we explore who God is and what it means to follow Him today. It runs about an hour.
12:30pm · Morning Ends
Our morning ends just before lunch, and there are plenty of great places to eat nearby. It may be longer than you expect, but it goes by quickly. We’d love for you to join us.
